The Music of
Phoenix Rising
This album is based upon recordings that were on the tapes when the original line-up was forced to take a pause back in the mid-80’s.
The tracks on the album are finalised as the definitive studio versions of the Phoenix Rising material. The drums are based upon the original work of Danny Spencer brought up to date and interpreted by our session drummer, Clatterfoot. The arrangements, instrumentation and orchestrations are as originally envisioned by the music's composer Pete Bangert. The bass work on the album is performed by our session man Session Pete and the Lead Vocals are performed by Mick Shedd backed by Pete Bangert.Pete also takes joint lead vocal on Phoenix Rising.
As the recordings do not contain contributions from original band members other than Pete, the final version of the album is released as ‘The music of Phoenix Rising’. This now draws a line under the chapter of Phoenix Rising. All future releases of Phoenix Rising material will be released under the Pig’n’aif project banner.
The album demonstrates the Phoenix Rising brand of Melodic Heavy Rock definitively
